Welcome to MyLogoGuy
This site and its name are a nod to my early days in brand development, and may one day give rise to rekindling that direction online. Currently though, MyLogoGuy will be an all-encompassing showcase of creative design spanning the past decade.
Since 2006, my intent with this website has been a simple one: showcase my artwork in the most modern medium, reaching the widest audience, and present it in the cleanest and most professional way possible.
While several site designs have come and gone along the way, I have continued to update, improve and refine the content and presentational look - side-by-side. This process, while simple in its original goal, has helped to expand my web and UI knowledge to better match that of my more traditional skills.
With a new red and gold look for this summer, along with strong use of CSS and Dreamweaver templates, I'm excited as to where the next steps will lead me for 2009.
About the Clients and Artwork
The creative links along the top feature a culmination of over a decade's worth of design-related materials spanning all aspects of Print and Web, as well as other tie-in creative such as Photography, Computer Illustration, Animation, and more.
My artwork was previously presented through a link to a "Virtual Folio" section. I have since integrated that section with the standard informational pages - such as this one - for a more streamlined look.
Tomorrow's Strategies
With exposure to high-profile Canadian clientele growing, plans are underway to eventually shift the site's portfolio of work from an item-by-item approach, towards a client-by-client creative management approach.
My Biography
In my early years I could be found dreaming up bold, structured
illustrations. So it was with luck that, during high school, I would
get a chance to attend a course in Graphic Arts. This course, with it's
focus on photography, type, printing and Mac-based layout, set the
stage for my creative dreams to take shape.
Following high school, I set off to Toronto to attend Graphic Design at
George Brown College. Wanting to a have a competitive edge, I filled my
summers with animation training an hour west of the city - at Sheridan
College. I received, from both courses, 5 years worth of education in
only 3 years’ time.
Out of college, an opportunity arose with an innovative design firm -
The Logo Factory. During my time there, I created effective branding
solutions for print and web, as well as a host of other materials, and
participated in the training of Jr. Designers. After 8 gratifying years
I sought a change...
Currently, I have found a great fit with an online marketing company -
ThinData - where, along with the teamwork of coders, copywriters,
account managers and other very talented staff, I help to create some
of the top HTML and email-based creative for Fortune 500 firms in
Canada.
Onwards and upwards -
