Ad & Layout: General Ad & Layout

With a culmination of various images, fonts, branding and copy, there's no one thing that makes any particular layout special. However, it is in the overall arrangement of those elements, a central theme, and the execution that makes a design's message effective.

Client: Georgian Mall - Toronto, ON

About Client:

Working with Georgian Mall was a very rewarding experience, because they truly understood the value of having, and maintaining, a quality branded look. I was very pleased to continue on that tradition through various promotional items such as: hoardings, posters, washroom boards, promotional items, and more.

Top Graphic: Tenant Manual - 2007

Here we have a striking cover for Georgian's 2007 tenant manual. The reuse of the primary G component at large scale, coupled with the heavy color use, creates an attention-grabbing feel.

Content production was spearheaded by the Creative Director, and I assisted her 50/50 in the overall InDesign layout within.

Bottom Graphic: "Tabletopper" Ad

Here, in contrast to the manual, we have a more subdued and casually inviting layout for what's referred to as a "tabletopper" - basically a freestanding informational advertisement that folds out like a massive 3-page brochure.

Georgian was looking to do a 2/1 split in advertising, with 2 panels dedicated to a sponsored walk and associated charities, with the third panel discussing their Shop Card offerings. I decided to place central focus on the charity tie-in, as this would promote the very best of Georgian Mall's principals.

The client was always happy with the attention to details, focused ideas and concepts, and the finished products overall.

Client: NMBS - Mock

About Client / Direction

As a company that focuses on the well-being of other corporations, NMBS desired a clean corporate look for their brand, as well as a tag line that addressed their core values. The theme is designed to shake up the business world by exploiting overused cliche's. The saying "think outside the box" is then turned around to "don't be the box"... tweaking the typically tired theme to their advantage.

Client: Personal - Mock

About Client / Direction:

In my previous position as a branding specialist, there wasn't a lot of opportunity to work on large multi-page layouts or corporate booklets. The full spread sample here was laid out in InDesign, and the photos were taken from my personal photographic library. All in all, helps to boldly illustrate my layout abilities.
